In October, we had the privilege of hosting our first annual teachers' conferences in the neighboring villages of Lechinta, Nades, and Tigmandru, Romania. We shared our passion for teaching students who learn differently and how to meet them where they learn best. The teachers enjoyed demonstrations regarding strategies for learning, studying, and test taking and we gifted them with tools to implement these strategies in their classrooms. We invited the teachers to discuss this possibility of developing confident, independent learners by providing a peaceful environment where learning takes place in their schools and classrooms. Reflecting on the days spent with the teachers, our ministry partners, Claudia and Leandru Dascal shared, "Our desire is to empower, encourage, and motivate today's teachers to be fantastic role models for this generation of children and these conferences are the beginning."
